ANCIENT ROME WALKING TOUR


HOUR BY HOUR ITINERARY

09.00am :


Meeting with your private guide in Rome city centre and start of the 4 h walking tour of the ancient part of Rome. The tour will begin from the Forum, the main square of ancient Rome. From here you will take a pleasant stroll, crossing the Via Sacra (Sacred way), the most important street, route of victorious generals and their processions of triumphant conquest. There you will see the ruins of marvelous ancient monument: the Triumphal Arches of Titus and Septimius Severus, the Curia, seat of the Roman Senate, the Basilica Emilia and the Basilica Julia, the Temples of Vesta, Antoninus, Faustina, Vespasian and Saturn. The tour will continue along the Palatine Hill, and go past the ruins of the Domitian’s Palace and his private Stadium; at the top-hill you can have an unforgettable view over the valley of the Circus Maximum, site of the chariot races. The tour ends at the Coliseum where, without lines ,you will enter the magnificent Flavian Amphitheatre and admire where the gladiatorial duels, wild beast fights were arranges for the entertainment of Roman people.
