Meeting with your private guide in Ferrara city centre and beginning of the tour. This city is not as famous as other destinations such as Florence, Rome and Venice; but it is definitely worth a visit as well, since it presents several interesting attractions. It has been even defined part of the "World Heritage", due to the wonderful atmosphere of its city centre, suspended between the Middle-Age and the Renaissance architecture.During the visit, you will discover the Estensi castle, the former fortress of the ruling Este family; the Cathedral, built in 1135 and presenting both Romanesque and Gothic architectural traits; the old university, where Copernicus and Paracelsus studied; the Defense Walls, very well preserved, and its numerous Renaissance palaces, such as the Diamanti Palace, home to the National Picture Gallery. You will meander through the narrow streets of the Jewish part of town, the ancient ghetto, full of evocative corners and legendary areas. During the tour, you will get to know the history of the powerful ruling families of Ferrara, getting in touch with medieval and Renaissance legends. You will be seduced by the beauty of Ferrara, a town loved by Italian and foreign directors and artists.

End of the walking tour. For those who wish, a lunch in a typical restaurant of Ferrara can be organized. You will taste the best dishes of the regional tradition, based on home-made pasta and lasagne, meat specialties and excellent red wines, as well as pumpkins, mushrooms and salami.
