DAY 1-CASTIGLIONE DELLA PESCAIA

Private transfer from Florence or Rome airport to Castiglione della Pescaia, a beautiful seaside town in southern Tuscany. Check-in at your hotel, relax and afternoon at leisure. Welcome dinner based on fish specialties and local dishes. Overnight at your hotel.

DAY 2-CAPALBIO AND THE GARDEN OF TAROTS

In the morning private transfer to Capalbio, in the southern part of Tuscany, called "the little Athens" because of its importance during the Renaissance period. Afterwards, visit of the Garden of Tarots, a sculpture garden based on the esoteric tarots, created by the famous artist Niki de Saint Phaelle. Lunch on own. Free afternoon in Castiglione to relax and enjoy its magical atmosphere. Dinner on own. Overnight in Castiglione

DAY 3-PITIGLIANO, SOVANA AND SATURNIA

In the morning, you will visit Pitigliano, known as a small Jerusalem because of the presence of an historical Jewish community. Later on visit of Saturnia, one of the most important Etruscan centres of all Italy. Lunch on own. In the afternoon visit of Sovana, a beautiful late-medieval centre. In the evening, transfer back to Castiglione and balance of the day at leisure. Dinner on own. Overnight in Castiglione.

• Pitigliano, an interesting mix between Jewish, Christian and secular architecture, with several churches, an important synagogue and many Renaissance palaces


• Saturnia, considered a sacred centre for the Etruscans because of its thermal waters: it was called "Aurinia" (the golden town), that represented one of the richest areas of the Etruscan territory


• Sovana, with the Aldobrandeschi Castle, an ancient fortress built over a pre-existing Etruscan/Roman building, the Palazzo Pretorio (13th-15th centuries), the Cathedral, originally dating back to 8th century

• The kosher cuisine in Pitigliano, with its typical Jewish shops serving typical dishes


• The thermal centres in Saturnia, loved by Etruscans and still opened

 

DAY 4-FOOD AND WINE TASTING, HORSE RIDING

Today, the tour will focus on Italian enogastronomy: in the morning you will enjoy the visit of one of the newest and most interesting wineries and wine estate of the whole Italian territory where authentic organic wine is produced. Wine tasting based on the best wines produced by the wine estate; Lunch in a restaurant of the Tuscan Maremma, in Scansano, where you will have a rich lunch exclusively based on typical products and you will taste the best Italian pasta and meat dishes. In the afternoon, become a real Maremma’s cowboy and enjoy a horse walk .Transfer back to the hotel. Dinner on own. Overnight in Castiglione.

Lunch on own in Porto S.Stefano: we suggest you to stop for a fish-based lunch in a typical restaurant of the area. Afterwards, transfer to Porto Ercole, another quaint village with a defensive fortress and the wonderful panorama of the Argentario Mount national park. Return in hotel, balance of the day at leisure. Dinner on own. Overnight in Castiglione
